ENDHIRAN RELEASE DATE ANNOUNCED!

Following Mani's bilingual epic Raavanan, this year's other much awaited extravaganza the Shankar directed Endhiran will hit the screens. If industry inside sources are to be believed, Shankar is on the verge of announcing the release date, which is likely to be September 3, 2010. Endhiran, the sci-fi fantasy has been in the making for a couple of years with superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai in the lead. Owing to its mammoth budget, Eros International decided to drop the project earlier during the recession period after which SUN pictures took it over. Endhiran is reportedly made at a whopping budget of Rs. 190 crores, the highest ever budget for a motion picture in Indian cinema. Oscar winner A R Rahman scores for the movie, which is co-written by the late writer Sujatha.

‘Endhiran’ whereabouts!

Director Shankar is a man of high caliber and we know that seeing all his movies in the past being secretly kept under the wraps (till the point of release, in some cases). The latest is that news from the unit of ‘Endhiran’ is making waves in the filmdom. Apparently Rajini plays both the villain and hero in ‘Endhiran’. Therefore to differentiate in voices of the protagonist and antagonist, he has modulated his voice according to the character. That means the audience will get to hear two different voices of Rajini! Wow! There also another villain in the movie, supposedly a wicked character played by Hindi actor Danny Denzongpa. Not just that news, also circling in the film circles is that Aishwarya Rai will have more than 50 new looks in the movie with the make-up department headed by Bhanu, who took care of the make-up even in ‘Sivaji’. Also it is learn that, dance master Dinesh has choreographed a fast paced song set to tunes by A R Rahman, where Rajini and Ash have danced amazingly. Well apart from all this, words from a section of media say that a laboratory set of Rajini (we all know he’s a scientist in the movie) was set up at a cost of Rs.5 Crores. The set is apparently designed by ace art director Sabu Cyril. We can’t really call them gossips, the climax has been leaked but nothing has been confirmed on that front. One of them is that Amitabh Bachchan is playing a cameo! ‘Endhiran’ is all set to release in August, with the promotions of the movie being launched in July. Time will answer all our answers, as it is the terrific combination of Rajini –Shankar- A R Rahman that is coming together again!

ENDHIRAN’S SOUND EFFECTS

Sound designing is turning out to be an important part of Tamil films these days. Kunal Rajan, a sound engineer by profession, is a successful sound designer in Hollywood, Kollywood and Bollywood these days. He had won the Streamy Award for Sound designing for the Hollywood film Fear Clinic. His work in Achamundu Achamundu, and Hindi films Blue and Ghajini are worth a mention here.

This talented person is currently working with the Oscar winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty for the Shankar-directed Endhiran. Wonder what novel ideas will be incorporated in Endhiran by this 25-year-old.

‘Endhiran’ 100% complete

The words came from the horse's mouth. Rajinikanth who visited government tourism exhibition campus few days back himself confirmed that ‘Endhiran’ will be an August release. We had reported few days back quoting director Shankar that the film is complete but for one song. Now we hear even that song has been shot and the shooting comes to an end today. ‘Endhiran’ has six songs and one song was crooned by A R Rahman in the lines of “Athiradi” song in ‘Sivaji’. This song was the last one to be shot. Shankar wanted a massive hotel lobby to shoot the song and after trying number star hotels in the city he finally settled for a hotel still under construction near Anna Arivalayan in Teynampet. Shankar modified the hotel to his needs and started shooting on Monday. Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai participated. Shankar winds up the film today and will go into post production. Ooh... the excitement multiplies.

‘Endhiran’ from August: Rajini

Confirming media reports that his forthcoming venture ‘Endhiran’ is getting ready for release, Superstar Rajinikanth has said the high-budget extravaganza would hit the screens by August. “Endhiran is almost over. Only one song has to be shot. Everything will be completed soon and the film will be released in August,” the top actor told reporters, when he visited ‘Kodai Thiruvizha' organised by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation on Island Grounds in Chennai Monday. When asked how the film directed by Shankar and produced by Sun Pictures was taking shape, the matinee idol expressed satisfaction and said, “I am happy about Endhiran and looking forward its release.” Asked what made him to visit the Kodai Thiruvizha, Rajini said, “Poet Vairamuthu’s son and Information Minister Parithi Ellamvazuthi's son son have been part of this show. I have come here on their invitation.”

Endhiran’ given to ARR for music

Director Shankar is tied up with lot of final post-production work of ‘Endhiran’. He has said he didn’t talk about ‘Endhiran’ for some time just to avoid excessive hype and expectation. Even a still posted on his blog creates a hype he felt. So what’s new on Endhiran? Shankar himself says except for one song the entire film shooting is complete. The full edited film has been given to A R Rahman for background score and Resul Pookutty for the sound effects. Shankar is waiting to shoot the last song and the computer graphics work of the climax. So everything is going on as per schedule. The high impact promotions will start on July 11. Watch out!
